Albin Kurti is the President of the biggest political party in the country, Lëvizja VETËVENDOSJE! (LVV), as well as the fourth and now the sixth Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova since the country’s declaration of independence. He was born on March 24th, 1975 in Prishtina. Kurti joined the Presidency of the Students Independent Union of the University of Prishtina (SIUUP) in August 1997, which organized peaceful, non-violent protests for the release of the university buildings and premises which were occupied by the authorities of the Serbian regime. When war began in Kosova, in August 1998, Kurti began working as the Secretary of the Office of the General Political Representative of the Kosova Liberation Army (KLA), Adem Demaçi. When the NATO bombing of Serbia and Kosova commenced in March 1999, Kurti remained in Prishtina, and was arrested by the Serbian police on April 27th, 1999, and then imprisoned. When Serbian forces withdrew from Kosova on June 10th, Kurti and many other Albanian political prisoners were transferred to Serbian prisons. Due to international pressure, Kurti was released on December 7th, 2001. On April 23rd, 2003, Kurti graduated in Computer Science and Telecommunications from the University of Prishtina. In June of 2005, Kurti with other activists of the Kosova Action Network, advanced their organization into Lëvizja VETËVENDOSJE!, which was later registered as a political party. He was the President of LVV until March 2015, and was re-elected as President of the party in January 2018. Between 2005-2017, he spent almost one a half years under house arrest and in prison, charged by the authorities of UNMIK, EULEX and the Republic of Kosova. Kurti has served three terms in office as a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosova representing LVV. He has also served as the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Assembly. In the last three, consecutive national elections held in Kosova, in 2017, 2019 and 2021, Kurti has been the party’s candidate for Prime Minister. In the elections of 2017 and 2019, he and the party won the highest number of votes. Whereas, in the elections held on February 14th, 2021, LVV’s list won a total of 50.28% of the popular vote, which is the best result any party has achieved since the end of the war in Kosova. Albin Kurti has published over 550 articles, and has been invited to present at different renowned universities inside and outside the country. He is fluent in Albanian, English, and Serbian.

Mimoza Kusari-Lila is a Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Chairwoman of the LVV parliamentary group, and a member of the Committee on Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade. Kusari-Lila is also the chairwoman of the Alternativa Party, and she served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and Minister of Trade and Industry from 2011 to 2013. She was the Mayor of Gjakova from November 2013 until 2017, being the first and only woman to serve as a mayor in Kosovo. Mimoza Kusari-Lila entered politics in 2003 when she took the position of spokesperson and political advisor to the then Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi. She served as the spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo for more than a year. She became the first woman to hold the position of a municipal mayor in the history of Kosovo. Kusari-Lila completed her master's studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied through the "Ron Brown Scholarship Program”.

Abelard Tahiri is a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and PDK Caucus leader. He is also a member of the Committee for Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade. Previously, he served as the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo. From 2008-2014 he served as the chief of cabinet of the Prime Minister of Kosovo. From 2014 to 2016 he was the Senior Political Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister and chief of cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also served as the Senior Political Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kosovo. Mr. Tahiri graduated from the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Pristina.

Arben Gashi is a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo representing the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), where he also serves as the LDK Caucus Leader. In addition, he is a member of the Committee on the Kosovo Intelligence Agency. His prior experience includes serving as a political adviser to the Mayor of Pristina from 2007 to 2011. He chaired the Committee on Legislation from 2010 to 2014 and was a member of the Committee on European Integration from 2014 to 2017. Gashi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Tirana and a Master’s Degree in Governance from Trento University in Italy.

Besnik Tahiri is a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Kosova and Vice President of the AAK Political Party. He is chief of the AAK Parliamentary Group in the opposition. Mr. Tahiri represents Kosova at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg. At the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe, he is member of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination. In two years in a row, 2022 and 2023 Mr. Besnik Tahiri, was ranked as the most active member of parliament of Republic of Kosovo. This attribution comes from a very prominent think-Tank called Kosovo Law Institute that monitors the Parliament of Kosovo. In September 2022, he was nominated by the U.S. Embassy Pristina, to participate on the International Visitor Leadership Program: "Executive and Legislative Branch Relations to Advance National Security" a program run by the US State Department/Kosovo Embassy. The program took place from 18-29 September 2022. During 2020, Mr. Tahiri served as First Deputy Prime Minister and for a while Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Tahiri served as the National Coordinator for State Reforms in the 2018-2019 Government of the Republic of Kosova, leading and coordinating the state reform process, including the public administration reform law package; law on government; coordination with municipalities; and cooperation with local and international organizations and partners involved in the state reform processes. From 2009 to 2018 Mr. Tahiri had an extensive international experience as a Senior Consultant to major international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Chemonics, and Tetra Tech. He worked in Jordan, for US led programs, Syria Programs and in the Western Balkans. From December 2004 until January 2008 served as political advisor during the mandate of three different Prime Ministers of Kosova. Since 2008 served as the Executive Director of Kosovo Local Government Institute (KLGI), a professional think-tank on local governance and decentralisation. Mr. Tahiri is a Chevening scholar and he has been elected as the first President of the Chevening Alumni of Kosova. He is an author of several research articles on decentralisation and local government administration. He is a lecturer at the University of the UBT in Prishtina. Mr. Tahiri holds an MSc on Decentralized Government and International Development from the University of Birmingham, the UK and a Diploma from Academic Education Program from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). He is an International Evaluator certified by the International Association for Development Assessment (IDEAS), Carlton University, Ottawa, Canada.

Enis Kervan - Enis Kervan is a Member of the Assembly of Kosovo from The Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP). He is the Chair of the Multiethnic Parliamentary Group in Kosovo’s Assembly and a member of Kosovo’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He previously served as Minister of Regional Development and Deputy Minister of Education. Dr. Kervan has held roles such as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and Vice Chair of various committees. In academia, he lectures on Turkish language and literature at the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti.” He holds a PhD in Philological Sciences from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius. He is fluent in Turkish, Albanian, Serbian, and English. Born in Prizren in 1979, he is married and has three children.

Fitore Rexhepi is an editor at the Radio Television of Kosovo. She is a seasoned journalist and presenter with a strong background in international relations and law. She holds a Master's degree from the Law Faculty in International Relations, showcasing her commitment to understanding complex global issues. Fitore's career in journalism began in 2004 at RTK, where she has been a prominent figure in political debates, contributing significantly to RTK PRIME's editorial and presentation content. Her expertise and dedication to journalism have made her a respected voice in the media landscape, known for her insightful analysis and thought-provoking discussions. Fitore's work embodies a deep understanding of political dynamics, making her a valuable asset to RTK and a trusted source of information for viewers.

Vlora Çitaku is the Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. She previously served as the Vice President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). She has also served as Kosovo’s ambassador to the United States of America and earlier as Kosovo’s Consul General in New York. Before joining Kosovo’s diplomatic corps, Vlora served as Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration. She was recognized as one of the most successful ministers in the Kosovo government from 2011-2014. She resigned from her position as a Member of Parliament when she assumed her governmental role, a position she earned as one of the three most voted candidates. Vlora Çitaku was only a teenager when she became a translator and contributor for major Western news outlets at the start of the war in Kosovo. Later, she became a refugee during the Kosovo War and has been involved in politics since 1999. She initially became a spokesperson for the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and joined the PDK after the formation of the party in post-war Kosovo. She has served two terms as a Member of Parliament. Vlora has emphasized that she has overcome political stereotypes, such as the idea that one must be older and male to succeed. She also served as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs fromOctober 18, 2010, until February 22, 2011.

Alexander Chavarría is the former Senior Resident Director of NDI in Kosovo. He previously served as the Resident Director in Liberia and the Director for the Citizen Participation program of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador. He has served as an international consultant on issues of democracy and governance for the IADB, International Budget Program, Parliamentarians for Habitat Group and OAS. Mr. Chavarría co-founded, assisted and later served as an advisor for the Legislative Development Program (PRODEL) for the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. He has also served as international consultant in legislative modernization programs in Guatemala and as legislative advisor for the House of Representatives of the Texas Legislature. Mr. Chavarría has also been an international observer for the OAS during the 2004 El Salvador presidential elections. A Costa Rica native, Mr. Chavarría holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a master’s in political science from Texas State University, and is a graduate of the “licenciatura” program of University of Costa Rica, Political Science School.
